Well in keeping with our promise to each other that we wouldn't try and see all of France the first weekend, we only saw half of it......not really, but we've seen a lot of the surrounding area, and it's beautiful!! Here are the snow-covered Alps, within site of our area.

Saturday we travelled mostly in the foothills north and east of here and visited a medieval town called St Paul de Vence, pictured below.
Ann and Melissa - one of the team members in St. Paul de Vence.

This morning we went to the Cannes Ward. They have their own small building and we arrived just in time for Sacrament meeting....got lost somewhere other than where we wanted to be, but found it despite ourselves. It's comforting to know that the church is the same no matter where you go. It was a very nice experience and several people talked with us after the service. There aren't any Americans in the ward, but many speak English from serving missions, mostly in Canada. This is a view of the Alps from the city of Cannes!

After church, we got on the autobahn and scooted over to the Italian border, then worked our way back home along the Mediterranean coast, going through Monaco/Monte Carlo and several spectacular coastal cities; all in about 4 1/2 hours. This is a view of the area just west of Monaco.
When we got back, the crockpot dinner needed another hour of cooking, so we explored around the grounds, figuring out where everything is. It's really a beautiful place.
